The most powerful way to improve workplace health and safety is to get everyone involved. You can run competitions, staff surveys, you can have rewards, team meetings, have Health and Safety representatives sit on the executive committees – whatever it takes to keep your guys and girls safe.
Acknowledgement and participation are powerful when it comes to improving workplace safety. Safer workplace systems provide many opportunities for both.
To drive greater results we need to inspire and influence better behaviour. We need to engage with our workforce more so whether that’s in the lunchroom over a coffee or a team bonding day, I can show you ways to get maximum buy in.
Why not get the team into making a training video that inspires and engages? We won an award at Satara and it was one of the most positive team bonding experiences I have ever been involved in.
Why not get a clever little graphic designer to create some posters that speak directly to your team – it doesn’t matter if they’re funny, it matters that the message sticks!
And it all begins with safer workplace systems that we can develop and employ together.
